These courses are the national standard for first aid. They comply with Health and Safety (First Aid), 1981, approved Code of Practice L74, 1st October, 2013.

Paediatric First Aid

This course is for the child care setting - The Childcare Act, 2006 placed a specific legal requirement, from the 1st September, 2007, through the “Early Years Foundation Stage, 2014”.

The course is 12 hours and meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, 2014. We issue a Paediatric First Aid certificate and an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, on successful completion.

Mountain First Aid

This is an Emergency Mountain Care course. Mountain Training England require 16 contact hours, with the inclusion of wilderness specific subjects. The course is suitable for Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme leaders, most levels of mountain and walking group leader certificates, the British Canoe Union courses and the Royal Yachting Association courses.

Dental and GP Practice

This course covers the indications and contraindications for the emergency medications, and their usage in the Dental and General Practitioner Surgery scenario. The course is often combined with advisory defibrillation, shockable and non-shockable rhythms, with bag, valve and mask ventilation. Each part of the course takes 2 ½ hours and is certificated accordingly.

Advisory Defibrillation

As Public Access Defibrillators become more common, and many work places have a defibrillator, this course covers the main aspects of using a defibrillator and associated equipment, in a confident and competent manner.

Arborist First Aid

This is a course specifically designed for the Arboriculturist and Utility Arborist. There are unique risks involved in this work, requiring unusual first aid techniques. This six hour training course prepares the Arborist for the challenge. There are sections on chainsaw injury, falls from height, electrical injuries, disaster management and remote working. On successful completion, a three year “Emergency First Aid at Work” certificate is issued. The course complies with Health and Safety (First Aid), 1981, approved Code of Practice L74, 1st October, 2013.
