Our People

Axiom have a number of Instructors and Assessors - Allan, Chris, Dave, Joanna, Matt, Mark, Martin, Phil, Pug, Simon and Stuart. They are drawn from varied professional backgrounds including Paramedics, First Responders, Firefighters and Mountain Rescue Teams with 178 years of collective experience.

Axiom’s lead Instructor is Martin Bennett, who started teaching first aid in 1988, initially for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and from 1990 for Axiom Training Ltd.

Martin has a BSc Honours in Pre-Hospital Care, from the University of Wales, Swansea. Martin was an active member of Longtown Mountain Rescue Team for 21 years. He retired from Mountain Rescue to become a Community First Responder for West Midlands Ambulance service in 2005. He attends about 140 incidents a year in his local community and is on call an average of 4200 hours a year. Martin runs a number of Heartstart courses for the local community; a short course about resuscitation, which he is delighted to provide free.

Martin has undertaken specialised training in anaphylaxis and allergy. He also provides event cover for motorbike and horse events. Martin is highly skilled as a practitioner of pre hospital care, having been a lecturer for the world renowned BASICs Education/Royal College of Surgeons for 5 years. He has had many training/experience days in hospitals, and with both the London HEMS and West Midlands CARE team.

Joanna Bennett runs all the behind the scenes operations. Joanna’s career is also very much medically focused, having trained at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and worked at Exeter University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham as Medical Administrator.
